This statutory guidance applies to: 

• governing bodies of maintained schools (excluding maintained nursery schools) 

• management committees of PRUs 

• proprietors of academies, including alternative provision academies (but not including 16–19 academies) 

This guidance is also provided to assist and guide: 

• schools, academies (including alternative provision academies) and PRUs 

• local authorities • clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), NHS England 

• anyone who has an interest in promoting the wellbeing and academic attainment of children with medical conditions, including alternative provision, e.g. independent schools •

 parents/carers and pupils 

• health service providers

Contact have produced a document to help.  The link states Many children have medical conditions that significantly affect their school life. Some children miss a lot of school through illness. Others may require medication or personal care during school time, or emergency procedures need to be put in place for them.

IPSEA website has useful information on supporting supporting pupils at the school with medical conditions”..  Their website states "Under section 100 of the Children and Families Act 2014, schools, Academies and PRUs “must make arrangements for supporting pupils at the school with medical conditions”.
